The Powermatic 20x35 Inch Wood Lathe is the fourth generation of this renowned lathe, offering significant upgrades while preserving the trusted features of earlier models. It retains essential elements such as the sliding headstock, electronic variable speed with both high and low ranges, spindle lock, digital RPM readout, and a self-ejecting laser-etched quill.
Powermatic 20x35 Inch Wood Lathe: enhanced versatility, comfort, and stability
This model introduces a magnetic-backed movable control box, providing exceptional versatility and improved safety. Adjustable riser blocks allow for up to six inches of height adjustment, ensuring optimal comfort during use. The lathe’s weight has been increased to 726 pounds, or 814 pounds with the optional bed extension, enhancing stability.
Precision, adaptability, and smoother operation with the Powermatic 20x35 Inch Wood Lathe
Among the Powermatic 3520C Lathe upgrades are an ergonomic spindle lock design for easier operation, a digital indexing readout for precise adjustments, and an anti-rotation tailstock key for smoother functionality. A set of dead centres is included to facilitate visual spindle comparisons, while the two-position mount for the optional bed extension increases adaptability. The lathe also features a sliding hammer knockout rod with a brass tip for efficient removal.
Safety upgrades for enhanced control and protection
Additional refinements include the ability to achieve speeds as low as 15 RPM for delicate turning tasks. The extended spindle nose improves access to workpieces, while the fully enclosed VFD enhances user protection. A main power disconnect switch is conveniently located at the rear of the headstock, and the upgraded banjo now includes a non-marring, pinch-style clamp to secure the tool rest firmly in place.
Please note that the 3520C lathe cannot be operated on a GFCI circuit. Please consult the manual for further details and ensure the lathe is disconnected from the power supply when not in use.
