Spektra cutters feature a nACo nanocomposite coating with extreme nanohardness (approximately 4,500 Vickers - 2.5 times harder than uncoated bits) and heat resistance. This micro-thin ceramic coating allows the cutting edge to better retain critical sharpness and lubricity for greater tool life and the highest quality cuts. Further, it keeps the bit cooler.

Note that the unique colouring will dissipate upon use but this does not affect the coating which is still fully effective.

The cutting edge consists of a bolt-in piece of carbide that can be simply replaced instead of replacing the tool. By not replacing the entire tool, costs are saved over the lifetime of the tool, and less waste is generated. Further, the router bit does not necessarily be removed from the tool to change the carbide insert.
